Bureaucracy, hierarchical bullying, leaders and lowly followers, and then any other kind of governing with the expense and exploitation with the governed... these are generally hurtful and criminal systems to the benefit with the few and also the misery with the many. There are possible ways of living and dealing together. I have proposed and exercised a significantly simpler, balanced, harmonious, and successful guideline for any good teacher and willing students to genuinely work and learn together.
Leadership and responsibility are shared equally, providing all people in a bunch first understand how it works and second, are wanting to enjoy its productivity and share joy of learning and dealing together.
Much with the old "system" must necessarily be dispensed with: the pressures of fear, punishment, totalitarian authority, ugly competition, as well as a resulting deficiency of learning, joy, and boundless deficiency of productivity. Replacing these "traditional" habits of non-learning with fresh new attitudes of tending to one another's qualities and talents, sharing and helping, and making a feeling of confidence and trust in your own integrity which of your fellows... and seeing and that great infinite benefits... this is exactly what i was all able to accomplish together.
Each individual is because of the experience with planning and doing an insurance policy drawn up by each member with the group, with all the teacher's guidance and experience being a resource of excellent use. First, the agenda of assorted skills is drawn up and decided upon, each one of these contributing to and approving of our own outline products we want to learn. Thus... there exists a plan, a syllabus, out of which to draw our activities of curriculum and learning.
Next, we know what form of leadership or management qualities are necessary, so that you can accomplish real learning skills together. The literal qualities: subject preparation; understanding group dynamics; and making the perfect use of our own time together. Also... collecting our work material together, for daily use. The abstract qualities: number of other ways; caring to the productivity of each and every member with the group; having a well-earned pride within the advancement of each and every individual; concern for individual and group behavior and harmony; enjoying the vast number of skills and experience that can be achieved; transferring the educational skills and subject content after dark Cheap Classroom Furniture Nz, as life lessons.
What specific duties must each of us experience, so that you can make this daily venture a success? To love who we're and what we're engaged in. Yes! This is the best of living, in and out with the classroom. Loving our work... and dealing to love our lives.
We rotate leadership and management duties, once our agenda can be obtained out of which to draw for our daily lessons. Two students at any given time... work cooperatively as co-teachers; they have to both prepare beforehand so that they can be relied upon to hold things moving smoothly. At the same time, students want this pair to ensure success: in the event the student teachers do well, so will the rest with the class. They help each other to ensure success... as a bunch effort.
We also rotate other Cheap Classroom Furniture Nz management duties, i.e... the passing and collecting of materials; posting the daily agenda on the board; welcoming one's fellows upon arrival and contributing to immediately getting down to business; acting as host to any and all sorts of visitors, and taking good care of interruptions quickly; taking attendance (to be checked by the teacher); getting around and giving aid wherever necessary; keeping an easy journal/log of our own day's accomplishments, to be eventually used by the next pair of student teachers in making their plans, keeping transition as smooth as you can.
We also needs to encourage and prepared for flexibility and spontaneity in the way you make valuable use of our own time together. Issues appear... that need immediate attention. In addition, we want to periodically evaluate how we're all doing. What are our strengths? Where might we improve? This is necessarily an ongoing process. Be as genuinely upbeat and encouraging as you can. Once again... this learning experience transfers to everyone's own life situation. Think of how this will and does benefit future and current family and community life. It works! The best critics and supporters... are students themselves.
It is really a beautiful experience, also from my point of view as both a tutor and student. Much affection is openly encouraged. Students are wanting to arrive at class. Boredom and also the have to cheat fade from existence. Memorable moments are experienced. Students invited others to visit: parents, staff members, community mentors, siblings, as well as visitor/participants from my "special class" which, consequently, invited our students to arrive at their room and present to them also. Their teacher was thrilled to participate in. A not-so-foreign exchange.
Perhaps our only problem: simply not enough time to try everything i was wanting to accomplish. Hence... it became the individual's option to continue to develop his/her own objectives beyond our limited class time. Many "projects" were done outside, therefore the outcome was shared with all the group. Fantastic variety! One senior lad had initiated their own business by purchasing one porta-potty to be rented for farmworkers within the field (having no other such facility); he earned enough, eventually, to purchase another, continuing to keep them adequately. An accomplishment for himself... yet others. A young woman in a very junior class crocheted warm and attractive baby blankets to be first given and then sold as lovely and useful items; I still use mine, many years later.
Life skills were a continuing, including curriculum lessons and making a lifelong joy and appreciation for learning, and living of the same quality an existence as you can, plus using an immediate and extended positive impact on others. Horizontal management... a blessing to any or all... as well as a horizon without limit or boundaries.
