Bureaucracy, hierarchical bullying, leaders and lowly followers, and then for any other form of governing on the expense and exploitation of the governed... they are hurtful and criminal systems for the benefit of the few and also the misery of the many. There are possible ways of living and together. I have proposed and exercised a lot simpler, balanced, harmonious, and successful guideline to get a good teacher and willing students to seriously work and learn together.
Leadership and responsibility are shared equally, as long as all individuals a bunch first understand how it works and second, are needing to enjoy its productivity and share joy of learning and together.
Much of the old "system" must necessarily be dispensed with: the pressures of fear, punishment, totalitarian authority, ugly competition, plus a resulting lack of learning, joy, and boundless lack of productivity. Replacing these "traditional" habits of non-learning with clean attitudes of caring for one another's qualities and abilities, sharing and helping, and making a feeling of confidence and trust in one's own integrity and that of your fellows... and seeing and experiencing and enjoying the infinite benefits... itrrrs this that we were all capable of accomplish together.
Each individual is because of the experience of planning and performing plans written by each and every member of the group, with the teacher's guidance and experience as being a resource of excellent use. First, the agenda of various skills is written and agreed upon, every one causing and approving in our outline of the items we should learn. Thus... there exists a plan, a syllabus, by which to draw our activities of curriculum and learning.
Next, we figure out what form of leadership or management qualities are necessary, to be able to accomplish real learning skills together. The literal qualities: subject preparation; understanding group dynamics; and making perfect use in our time together. Also... collecting our work material together, for daily use. The abstract qualities: variety of different methods; caring for the productivity of each one member of the group; having a well-earned pride within the advancement of each one individual; concern for individual and group behavior and harmony; experiencing and enjoying the vast variety of skills and experience that could be achieved; transferring the learning skills and subject content after dark Hanging Ceiling Decorations For Classroom, as life lessons.
What specific duties must each of us experience, to be able to make this daily venture profitable? To love who we are and what we are engaged in. Yes! This is the best of living, in and out of the classroom. Loving our work... and to like our way of life.
We rotate leadership and management duties, once our agenda can be acquired by which to draw for daily lessons. Two students during a period... work cooperatively as co-teachers; they need to both prepare ahead of time to enable them to be relied upon to help keep things moving smoothly. At the same time, students want this pair to succeed: when the student teachers excel, so will the rest of the class. They help the other to succeed... as a bunch effort.
We also rotate other Hanging Ceiling Decorations For Classroom management duties, i.e... the passing and collecting of materials; posting the daily agenda on the board; welcoming one's fellows upon arrival and causing immediately getting down to business; becoming host to your and many types of visitors, and taking good care of interruptions quickly; taking attendance (to get checked from the teacher); moving around and giving aid wherever necessary; keeping an easy journal/log in our day's accomplishments, to get eventually used from the next pair of student teachers in making their plans, keeping transition as smooth as possible.
We must also encourage willing and able for flexibility and spontaneity in how we make valuable use in our time together. Issues show up... which need immediate attention. In addition, we should periodically evaluate how we are all doing. What are our strengths? Where might we improve? This is necessarily a continuing process. Be as genuinely upbeat and encouraging as possible. Once again... this learning experience transfers to everyone's own life situation. Think of how this can and does benefit future and current family and community life. It works! The best critics and supporters... are students themselves.
It is often a beautiful experience, also from my perspective as both a tutor and student. Much affection is openly encouraged. Students are needing to arrived at class. Boredom and also the should cheat fade from existence. Memorable moments are experienced. Students invited others to see: parents, personnel, community mentors, siblings, and in addition visitor/participants from our "special class" which, in turn, invited our students to arrived at their room and present to them also. Their teacher was thrilled to participate in. A not-so-foreign exchange.
Perhaps our only problem: just not plenty of time to you must do everything we were needing to accomplish. Hence... it became the individual's choice to carry on and develop his/her own objectives beyond our limited class time. Many "projects" were done outside, and then the effects were shared with the group. Fantastic variety! One senior lad had initiated his own business by buying one porta-potty to get rented for farmworkers within the field (having no other such facility); he earned enough, eventually, to buy another one, continuing to take care of them very well. An accomplishment for himself... and others. A young woman inside a junior class crocheted warm and attractive baby blankets to get first given and then sold as lovely and useful items; I still use mine, a long time later.
Life skills were a relentless, including curriculum lessons and making a lifelong joy and appreciation for learning, and living nearly as good a life as possible, plus owning an immediate and extended positive effect on others. Horizontal management... a blessing to all or any... plus a horizon without limit or boundaries.
