Have you been experiencing a nagging feeling about going back to college? Is it because you're unhappy inside your career, or hit a plateau and require something new? Well for me, a minimum of ten years had passed before I began to consentrate quietly to myself about if I is going time for College Of Charleston Store Hours to pursue a Master's Degree. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The University of Michigan in 1996, and I thought I was carried out with college for the remainder of my entire life. However, after a stressful number of unfulfilling jobs and experiencing several layoffs in the tough job economy, I pointed out that I needed to formulate my resume with additional education to make me a more valuable asset and employee. The job postings that I attemptedto sign up for desired those with a Master's Degree and many many years of professional experience with various fields. The starting salaries normally were a minimum of $10k a lot more than what I was earning during the time, so those positions really seemed attractive to me. Although the task prospects were exciting and I felt that my current work experience and education was suitable, apparently it wasn't because those positions required applicants to experience a Master's Degree. According to the CensusBureau's 2009 Current Population Survey, only 7.9% from the adult population in the United States includes a Master's Degree. As exclusive as that number sounds and looking to be a part of that demographic, it was challenging to contemplate going back to college to have another degree and spend thousands in doing so, especially after being from school for such a long time.
As fate would have it, the trigger that woke me up from complacency occurred at the job eventually, in March 2011, when I became disheartened through the work ethic and extreme sales tactics from the company I was working for during the time. I was frustrated with apathetic co-workers, the task, the 110 mile round-trip commute, and the hours. It scared me where my entire life was at that point. I also became worrisome about the task hopping that's developing on my own resume, to no fault of my very own - company layoffs and financial woes. Consequently, living in Michigan in the worst recession in my entire life (2007-to the actual), I took jobs to pay for the rent while looking for a greater job. I even considered moving from state, but I already spent 5yrs on the East Coast, simply to have to move back home following the events of 9/11 during my beloved New York City. However, by living in the state hard hit through the recession and being affected by high unemployment rates, that in of itself forced my hand and provided me the motivation to look for a greater life professionally, and financially, by making current debts go time for college.
In the back of my head, I automatically knew which university to sign up for, and what to study for. I pride myself in succeeding as a decisive person, so when the seed was planted during my mind, I knew what I had to do. Based with a hobby that I are actually active in for the better portion of ten years, writing on the internet and participating in social networking developments, I knew how the Communications field was the longer term career for me. I put on Eastern Michigan University and got accepted and started my program in the Fall of 2011. As of this moment, I am taking 6 credits a semester, and after 5 classes so far, while working full-time, and actively engaged during my personal social networking work, I have a 4.0 GPA. I was meant to be back College Of Charleston Store Hours and I could not be a little more elated and feeling proud! I am scheduled to graduate using a Master's Degree in Communication in the Fall of 2013, and I want to create my very own communications based online business, as well as work in the public sector in assisting a business with its communication and marketing needs. I only wish I could have made this decision earlier, but upon reflection, that is the perfect time to maintain school as I know 100% what my goals are, and I am considerably more mentally and emotionally stable to demonstrate the discipline that working full-time and driving to class at night requires.
