Being a Industrial Hot Plate music teacher first hour sure goes fast. It is so much fun and truly rewarding. There is lots at work in getting ready for the upcoming day every week. The children look forward to our time of being together, learning information on music.
I usually begin the rhythm and music class which has a sort of story-telling gesture. I say. "Good morning class." The solution is normally a typical reply, "Good morning Mrs. Rogers." When I inform them I'm going to step outside and are available in with my teacher face on and try it again, then I know I have their attention and cooperation. It is now that I commence to talk in-depth about teaching young adults the background music notes. We name the notes, discuss the number of beats correspond to that specific note and we all practice clapping.
So, inside the first part of the hour, the youngsters possess some introduction to a Quarter Note, as being a black remember that receives one count. Then, we have the Half Note, as being a white remember that receives 2 beats. The children learn patience in pausing and holding an email for a longer count. We review by clapping. Then we enter the rhythm box and pullout the sticks. The class learns to click on the beats with all the rhythm sticks to Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Again, there are so many great songs to select from. If we have time, we move on to other rhythm instruments.
Towards the end in the hour, I enjoy introducing the children to some music game. We played "I Spy The Whole Note" with pretend magnifying glasses. I like to place flash cards throughout the room and have the children close their eyes. On the count of three, the flash cards are given over, with eyes opened the youngsters begin their search for exactly what a whole note seems like. It's fun to train in a Industrial Hot Plate music class.
